Bayern's dominance lasted for over a decade, and last season was their first title-less season since 2012, so the record champions are looking to revitalise their own capabilities, but have yet to bring in any players of international class.
Borussia Dortmund also have nothing to hide after losing the Champions League final and have weakened the competition in particular with the two transfers of Serhou Guirassy and Waldemar Anton from VfB Stuttgart. Moreover, the omens on the Rhine could not be more different: While Bayer Leverkusen clinched the first championship in the club's history, FC were relegated quite bitterly to the 2nd Bundesliga on the final matchday.
The far north will be well represented in the coming season. With Holstein Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein is now the last federal state to have a team in the Bundesliga. This also makes the Storks the northernmost Bundesliga team to have ever played in the top flight of German football. A new (old) acquaintance, on the other hand, is FC St. Pauli, who are back in the Bundesliga for the first time since 2011. Last but not least, VfL Bochum fought for another season in a spectacular relegation play-off, in which the men from the Revierclub were already 3-0 down after the first leg and yet managed to save their place in the league, which had long been thought lost, via a penalty shoot-out in the second leg.
The battle for international football will be exciting again this year. With the aforementioned VfB Stuttgart, another team joined the ranks of the Bundesliga's overperformers last season, but had to cope with painful departures in the form of the aforementioned Guirassy and Anton as well as Hiroki Itō. Red Bull Leipzig, meanwhile, are still fighting to keep Dani Olmo, who was partly responsible for the German national team's elimination from the European Championship.
It is therefore impossible to predict how the aforementioned clubs will perform and what surprises there will be again this season. However, whoever manages to become one_Tippkönig or one_Tippkönigin this year can be actively influenced!
