REWE Group (participating REWE Combine companies and REWE retailers) subsidises the Deutschlandticket and offers it as a job ticket. Here you will find answers to the most important questions and instructions for the ordering process.
You can download the click instructions here .
And click here to go to the Deutsche Bahn order page.
General
With the Deutschlandticket, you can easily travel throughout Germany on all means of public transport, i.e. bus, tram, S-Bahn, U-Bahn and regional trains (IRE, RE, RB). It is valid in 2nd carriage class and is a non-transferable mobile phone subscription ticket that renews monthly. It can also be used at weekends and during leisure time. It will cost 63 euros per month from January 2026.
As a job ticket, the Deutschlandticket costs even less: if an employer subsidises the Deutschlandticket for its employees and concludes a corresponding framework agreement with Deutsche Bahn, employees also receive a discount of 5 per cent in addition to the subsidy. With an employer subsidy of 25 per cent, employees will be left with costs of €44.10 per month from January 2026.
REWE Group employees and trainees, provided their employer participates. Currently, these are: Retail Germany (REWE and PENNY in stores, logistics and administration), the central companies, DERTOUR, Lekkerland, the production companies, PETZ REWE, some retailers and the toom headquarters. REWE Dortmund and individual retailers offer the Deutschlandticket through other providers. You can only use the ticket yourself and cannot pass it on to friends or family.
Yes and no. Although the Deutschlandticket does not provide free transport for people aged 6 and over, dogs or bicycles, it is worth taking a closer look at the transport regulations in the fare zone used.
Yes, as long as they are subject to the network regulations, e.g. National Express, Rhein-Ruhr-Express, Hessische Rhein-Bahn, Mittelrheinbahn. Travel and Tourism offers are excluded.
Purchase
The ticket is purchased online via Deutsche Bahn as a mobile phone ticket. This requires a link, the company code valid for the respective company and the current personnel number. This is the only way to get the discount and subsidy. You can find the correct link, the appropriate company code and help with the personnel number in the click instructions.
The ticket can only be ordered in advance and for whole months. Tickets can be ordered up to 3 months before the start of validity, but no later than the 20th of the previous month. Example: A ticket for August can be ordered in the period from 1 May to 20 July. Please note that this is a monthly subscription that is automatically renewed each month unless cancelled by the 10th of the month.
If the click instructions do not already help, please contact the Deutsche Bahn subscription centre directly by telephone on +49 (0)30 72022569 or by e-mail at abo-dlt-job@bahn.de.
No, unfortunately that is not possible.
Your order will be checked by the railway and also by your HR department. This process can take up to 6 days. If you have not received an activation email by then, please contact the Deutsche Bahn subscription centre directly by telephone on +49 (0)30 72022569 or by email at abo-dlt-job@bahn.de.
Your order will be checked by the railway itself in the first step. There may be delays or even rejection if, for example, the address or e-mail address provided is invalid or problems arise during the credit check. In such cases, you will receive an e-mail from the Deutsche Bahn subscription team with the heading "The activation of your subscription is delayed". If you have any questions about this, please contact us directly using the contact details provided in this e-mail.
Your order will then also be checked by your HR department and may be rejected in certain cases. In this case, you will receive an e-mail with the heading "Your order has been rejected" and the text will state that the order has been rejected by your employer. This can happen, for example, if the personnel number provided is not up to date or an incorrect company code has been entered. There are also certain situations in which there is no entitlement to an allowance. This applies, for example, if the employment relationship no longer exists in the first month of validity.
If you have any queries about your rejection, it is best to get in touch with the internal contact persons for:

HROffice@dertouristik.com - toom head office:
toom-Deutschland-Ticket@rewe-group.com or the responsible HR Specialist - all other units:

Costs and subsidy
The price is due to the fact that Deutsche Bahn grants you a discount of 5 per cent for the job ticket when you use our company codes. With a ticket price of 63 euros from 2026, this leaves you with 59.85 euros, which will be debited from your account at the beginning of the month by SEPA direct debit from Deutsche Bahn. At the end of the month, you will receive the subsidy from your employer with your regular pay slip. This means that you will incur costs of 44.10 euros per month in the vast majority of cases.
The subsidy paid by REWE Group is usually 25%, i.e. 15.75 euros per month from January 2026. There are exceptions for some retailers, EHA Hamburg and some trainees in Cologne.
Deutsche Bahn will initially debit the reduced ticket price of 59.85 euros directly from you at the beginning of the month. Once a month, REWE Group receives the data on all users from Deutsche Bahn, including the personnel number you provided when purchasing. You will receive the subsidy with your regular pay slip at the end of each month.
The allowance is exempt from tax and social security contributions in accordance with § 3 No. 15 EstG. The allowance is recognised by the employer at the end of the year in the wage tax statement and thus reduces the amount deductible as a commuting allowance in your tax return.
Manage my subscription and my data
The Deutschlandticket job ticket is a monthly subscription that can be cancelled and is automatically renewed every month. You can manage your subscription in the Deutsche Bahn subscription portal: Update data, view and download invoices and also cancel the subscription.
You can register at https://abo.bahn.de/portal/#/ with your bahn.de user account. The login details are the same as in the DB Navigator app. If you have forgotten your login details, you can reset them by clicking on "Forgot your login details?" and reassign them.
Then add your subscription once by selecting "Deutschlandtarif" and then entering your subscription number, date of birth and postcode. You can also find screenshots of this in the click instructions in step 12.
The subscription number can be found next to or above the QR code on your mobile phone ticket. Alternatively, you can find it in the order confirmation email from Deutsche Bahn. The subscription number is also known as the order number or contract number.
You log in to the Subscription portal log in. If you have not already done so, add your subscription (see previous question) and then click on "My data" in the bar at the top. Here you can update the relevant data by selecting "Edit data" on the right. You can also find screenshots of this in the click instructions in step 13.
You log in to the Subscription portal log in. If you have not already done so, add your subscription (see step 12 in the click instructions or above under "What do I have to do to use the subscription portal?"). Then click on "My travelcards" in the bar at the top. Select your Germany ticket here. You can also find screenshots of this in the click instructions in step 13.
If you need all invoices for one year, select "Invoice" below the ticket. Now select the year and enter an e-mail address to which the invoice will be sent.
If you need an invoice for a specific month, select "Payment details" below the ticket. Scroll to the desired month and click on the download symbol in the "Invoice" column. Your invoice will be downloaded in pdf format.
The Deutschlandticket as a job ticket is a monthly subscription that can be cancelled and is automatically renewed each month. If you wish to cancel your subscription, you can do so by the 10th of the previous month via the Deutsche Bahn subscription portal (https://abo.bahn.de/portal/#/) to do so.
Example: A ticket purchased for August is automatically extended for September if it is not cancelled by 10 August.
To do this, log in to the subscription portal. If you have not already done so, add your subscription (see click instructions step 12 or above under "What do I have to do to use the subscription portal?"). Then click on "My travelcards" in the bar at the top. Select your Germany ticket here. Below the ticket, click on "Cancellation". You can also find screenshots of this in the click instructions in step 13.
Further information and assistance with the subscription portal can be found at: bahn.de/aboportal-start. If you require further assistance, please contact the Deutsche Bahn subscription centre directly by telephone on +49 (0)30 72022569 or by e-mail at abo-dlt-job@bahn.de.
Mobile phone ticket
No, printed tickets for Germany will not be accepted at a ticket inspection. The ticket must be loaded into the DB Navigator app and presented as a mobile phone ticket.
The Deutschlandticket is only accepted in digital form in the DB Navigator app. However, an alternative to a mobile phone can be another mobile device, such as a tablet, on which the DB Navigator app is installed.
No problem! You can reinstall the DB Navigator app on another mobile device (e.g. another mobile phone or tablet). As soon as you have logged in there with your user details, your ticket will appear again.
What applies in my case?
The same as for everyone else. As the Deutschlandticket is subsidised as a job ticket primarily for journeys between home and work, the subsidy is not reduced on a part-time basis.
Employees who are entitled to other forms of travel cost subsidisation do not receive a subsidy for the Deutschlandticket as a job ticket.
If the mobility budget has not yet been exhausted, it can be used for the Deutschlandticket as a job ticket. In this case, you will be reimbursed for the cost of the Deutschlandticket via your pay slip. If your mobility budget has already been exhausted, you will not receive any further subsidy for the Deutschlandticket as a job ticket over and above your mobility budget. Please refer to the Group Mobility Budget Policy for more detailed regulations.
The Deutschlandticket is not offered as a job ticket for interns. However, you can of course purchase a regular Deutschlandticket yourself via Deutsche Bahn or your local transport association and then benefit from local advantages if applicable.
Working students are offered the Deutschlandticket as a job ticket for the duration of their employment.
If you have an orange-green disabled person's pass with one of the following symbols on the back: aG, Bl, G, Gl or H, you can use local transport throughout Germany free of charge as compensation for disadvantages and therefore do not need a Germany Ticket. In contrast to the Deutschlandticket, even ferries in the local and neighbourhood area and private railways are included.
However, a so-called "supplementary sheet with token" is required for this, which can be obtained from the pension office for a fee, just like the severely disabled person's pass itself. The fee is waived if you receive social assistance, basic income support or citizen's allowance or if the H or BI or TBl mark is on your ID card. Regardless of the "supplementary sheet with token", a required accompanying person always travels free of charge.
You can find more information, for example, at severely disabled pass.de, from the VdK social association or from your pension office.
As the Deutschlandticket is subsidised as a job ticket, primarily for journeys between home and work, the subsidy does not apply during parental leave. This applies to all months that are completely free of charge.
If you are on part-time parental leave in a different position, please get in touch with your internal contact person. You can reach them here:
- DERTOUR:
HROffice@dertouristik.com - toom head office:
toom-Deutschland-Ticket@rewe-group.com or responsible HR Specialist - all other units:
Deutschland-Ticket-HR@rewe-group.com
As the Deutschlandticket is subsidised as a job ticket primarily for journeys between home and work, the subsidy is not paid during an illness that lasts longer than 6 weeks. This applies to all months that are completely free of charge.
As the Deutschlandticket is subsidised as a job ticket primarily for journeys between home and work, the subsidy is not applicable during the sabbatical leave phase.
If you still wish to use the Deutschlandticket, in the vast majority of cases you do not need to do anything, your ticket will simply continue to run. However, if a different company code applies as a result of your change, you should cancel your ticket in good time and order a new ticket with the new company code.
Example: I change from DERTOUR to REWE Zentralverwaltung on 1 January 2027. Previously I had the company code DTVDERTOUR, from 2027 the company code DTVREWEGrp will apply. I therefore submit my cancellation for my previous subscription to 31.12.2026 by 10.12.2026 at the latest via the Subscription portal at the latest. By 20 December 2026 at the latest, I will take out a new subscription starting on 1 January 2027 with the new company code.
As soon as no further remuneration is paid, no employer's subsidy will be paid. We will report your cancellation to Deutsche Bahn, which will make you an offer for a regular Deutschlandticket. Of course, you are free to cancel your season ticket earlier or buy a Deutschlandticket from another provider.
