"We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers. In the past, the shop business was inextricably linked to the purchase of fuel. Today, we see that more and more customers are using our shops just to shop," explains Aral CEO Achim Bothe. "The convenience sector in Germany has great potential and our Aral network with REWE To Go shops at attractive, high-frequency locations will grow to around 900 this year. Customers who want to enjoy their break on the go and shop, refuel or recharge at the same time can rely on us when it comes to fresh snacks and high-quality coffee specialities."
"Aral and Lekkerland are united by their absolute focus on the customer. We want to offer them the best shopping experience in the convenience sector. We work on this together every day," says Lekkerland CEO Patrick Steppe. "We are delighted that we will continue to develop the convenience offering at the Aral locations together. We are proud that REWE To Go is now one of the leading convenience formats in Germany. We want to further expand this position in the coming years. At Lekkerland, we combine more than 60 years of convenience experience with REWE's comprehensive consumer expertise. This is what we are bringing to this partnership."
