The opera house is steeped in memories, encounters and personal stories. With its return, the city has regained an important venue for the arts, culture and social interaction.

The return of the Cologne Opera was celebrated together with the city’s residents at the public festival marking its reopening. Thousands of visitors took the opportunity to rediscover the Cologne Opera and Theatre, gain a glimpse behind the scenes, and experience Offenbachplatz as a vibrant hub for culture, exchange and social interaction.

Our connection to Cologne is also something special for us. The REWE Group has had deep roots in the city for almost 100 years. This is where our head office is based, where many of our staff live and work, and where we are part of city life every day.

Together with the Schauspiel Köln theatre, a space is being created around Offenbachplatz where people of different generations and backgrounds can come together, discover new perspectives and experience culture together.
