Donations for aid projects
Train delays and flight cancellations on business trips can be put to good use for scholarships for Haitian students and the fight against rhino poaching. The donation of 60,000 euros for aid projects supported by the REWE Group is an impressive demonstration of how this can be done.
Aid for Haiti
Haiti continues to sink into chaos. The political vacuum is being filled by armed gangs who are fighting against each other and against the state - but above all against the people of this bitterly poor country. Displacement, violence, hunger and closed educational institutions naturally hit the weakest groups the hardest: Children and young people. One asked the head of Kindernothilfe Haiti, Pierre-Hugue Augustin, how the children's aid projects supported by REWE Group and its employees are doing.
Aid for Haiti
Two weeks without fear and violence - what sounds natural to us is the exception for people in Haiti. Kindernothilfe Haiti therefore organised a "Camp of Smiles" for the children - with our help, among others.
Aid for Haiti
The Collège Véréna, which was built with our support, was occupied, looted and partially destroyed by criminal gangs. The schoolchildren and teachers remained physically unharmed, and we are now looking for temporary classrooms and psychological help for them. In this precarious situation, we continue to stand by the children of Haiti and the Kindernothilfe employees who are trying to help the traumatised children on the ground.
