Expansion of three-party contracts
REWE, Tönnies Lebensmittel and farmers from Schleswig-Holstein signed a three-party agreement for fresh meat on 20 January during the Green Week in Berlin.
REWE Group employees in action
At the end of May, REWE Group's Centre of Excellence for Agriculture gave seven employees the chance to experience a very special change of perspective: by taking part in the nationwide "Farmer for a Day" campaign organised by the Forum Moderne Landwirtschaft (FML), they were able to swap the office for a stable and lend a hand on a farm.
REWE and Naturland
As a pioneer in the German food retail sector, REWE launched its strategic cooperation with Naturland Zeichen GmbH 15 years ago - a partnership that was intended to strengthen organic farming and make organic products accessible to a broader market. With success: around half of the now more than 850 REWE organic products, including all REWE organic meat products, now bear the Naturland seal.
International Green Week
For years, REWE has been combining its local supply mandate with innovations that have positive effects on the environment, climate and resource conservation. Brand new: together with Deutsche Bahn, REWE will be supplying several communities in northern Hesse with a shopping bus from spring.
Networking at eye level
REWE Group's newly founded Centre of Excellence for Agriculture combines a sense of tradition with a start-up mentality. It is the first of its kind in the German food retail sector. Hans-Jürgen Moog, Management Board Member for Goods/Purchasing, and Emilie Bourgoin, Head of Public Affairs, talk about this pioneering concept.
