Seit Januar 2023 trifft sich ein übergeordnetes Logistik- und Supply Chain Management (kurz: SCM) Board unter der Führung von Vorstand Peter Maly (COO). Sechsmal im Jahr setzen sich die hauptverantwortlichen Logistiker von acht Gesellschaften der REWE Group für einen geschäftsfeldübergreifenden Austausch zusammen. Eine der zentralen Fragen, die das Board seit dem vergangenen Jahr beschäftigt: Welcher alternative Antrieb ist die beste Lösung für die REWE Group – und ihre Klimaziele?
„Wir drehen in der REWE Group an vielen Stellschrauben gleichzeitig, um unsere Klimaziele zu erreichen. Die Logistik kann einen maßgeblichen Beitrag dazu leisten – aber nur wenn wir Silos aufbrechen, Synergien nutzen und mit allen Einheiten an einer gemeinsamen Dekarbonisierungs-Strategie arbeiten”, sagt Peter Maly, der als REWE Group Vorstand unter anderem das Ressort Logistik und Supply Chain verantwortet. Ein großer Hebel ist dabei unsere LKW-Flotte.” Im Januar 2023 wurde mit dem Projekt ´Alternative Antriebe´das erste gesellschafts- und länderübergreifende Strategie-Projekt der REWE Group Logistik gestartet.
In einem umfangreichen Test gehen REWE, PENNY, Handel International, Lekkerland, die REWE Dortmund und der REWE-Lieferservice gemeinsam der Frage nach, auf welchen alternativen LKW-Antrieb wir gruppenweit in Zukunft setzen sollten. Dafür sind Elektro-, Wasserstoff- und hybride LKWs in ganz Europa im Einsatz und sammeln Daten zu Parametern wie Kraftstoffverbrauch, Lade- bzw. Tankdauer und Reichweite pro Füllung. „Während ein Elektro-LKW in Österreich viele bergige Strecken zurücklegt, erzielt er in den überwiegend flachen Niederlanden ganz andere Reichweiten. Auch Fördermittel und Ladeinfrastrukturen sind in jedem Land anders. Diese Beispiele zeigen, wie wichtig es ist, dass wir Supply Chain-Herausforderungen nicht isoliert betrachten”, so Peter Maly.
„Gerade durch die internationale Zusammenarbeit und die vielen beteiligten Geschäftseinheiten können wir viel bessere Daten und Erkenntnisse für die Bewertung der alternativen Antriebe und ihren Einsatz in der REWE Group-Logistik sammeln.” Aktuell leitet die Projektgruppe aus den gesammelten Daten und bestehenden Rahmenbedingungen Handlungsempfehlungen ab, um dem Zielbild vom ´LKW der Zukunft´ einen Schritt näherzukommen.
Das Projekt ´Alternative Antriebe´ ist nur ein Beispiel für die übergreifende Zusammenarbeit des Logistik- und SCM-Boards. Neben der Dekarbonisierung sucht das Board auch nach gemeinsamen Lösungen für Herausforderungen wie fragile Lieferketten und Fachkräftemangel. So haben die Logistikverantwortlichen von REWE, PENNY, REWE Dortmund, toom Baumarkt, Lekkerland, Handel International, der REWE Group Buying und der REWE Group Fruchtlogistik auch schon eine gemeinsame Recruiting- und Onboarding-Strategie auf den Weg gebracht. Durch Einkaufsbündelung, Best Practice Sharing und eine strategische Gesamtsicht soll der Zusammenschluss in Zukunft außerdem helfen, wirtschaftliche Vorteile zu erzielen. „Trotz aller Unterschiede in den einzelnen Organisationseinheiten sprechen wir am Ende immer über die gleichen Themen. Deshalb ist der Austausch im Logistik- und SCM-Board für uns alle wichtig”, sagt Christian Hörner, Geschäftsführer Logistik bei BILLA in Österreich.
